You can choose between transferring or connecting your GoDaddy domain name to your Jimdo account. Connecting means that your domain name stays at GoDaddy but it will point to your Jimdo website. When you transfer the domain to Jimdo, you won’t need GoDaddy anymore.

Transfer a domain name to Jimdo:

By transferring your domain name to your Jimdo account, Jimdo will become your domain name registrar and will host it for you. Only “basic domain names” can be transferred. Follow these instructions to transfer your domain name to Jimdo:

To learn how to transfer a .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .de, or .ch domain name.

To learn how to transfer a .co.uk domain name.

Connect (point) your domain name to your Jimdo premium site:

If you would like to keep your domain name at GoDaddy, you can always point it to your Jimdo website. Connecting a domain name to a Jimdo premium plan (domain mapping) requires a bit of a technical process. However, GoDaddy should be able to help you. Check how to connect your GoDaddy domain to a Jimdo website.

Additional Information

You will be able to either transfer or connect (point) your GoDaddy domain name with any Jimdo premium site. Be aware that this is not available for free sites.

Domain names prices at Jimdo vary depending on the domain name extension. Basic domain names extensions such as .com, .net, .de, es, fr, etc. are $20 per year. Check Jimdo’s domain prices.

GoDaddy is a more budget-friendly option. You can get a domain name starting at $15 per year. In order to point your domain name to Jimdo, you only need a domain name—you won’t need any other extra features.

A cheaper domain name registrar is Namecheap. For example, .com domains are around $11 per year.

Yes, if you have a paid plan, you can buy either one email address for $12 per year or a bundle of 10 email addresses for $60 per year to save money. You’ll find detailed information here.

GoDaddy is not the cheapest solution for emails accounts ($48 per user yearly). Namecheap is a cheaper option for purchasing email accounts.
